Rugged Mountain Running, Big Views, and a True Wyoming Endurance Test
Saturday, July 11, 2026 • Friend Park Campground • 9:00 AM
The Laramie Peak Endurance Challenge invites runners and strong hikers to test themselves on one of Wyoming’s most iconic mountains.
Beginning and ending at Friend Park Campground, this rugged event features mountain climbing, remote forest trails, big elevation, and a basecamp-style atmosphere in the Medicine Bow National Forest.
Participants can choose from a 24-hour challenge, 12-hour challenge, or Single Summit Challenge, making this a serious endurance event with options for different levels of mountain athletes.

The route climbs from Friend Park through classic Medicine Bow National Forest terrain, including pine forest, rocky paths, narrow ridgelines, granite outcrops, and sweeping mountain views near the summit.
Each lap is approximately 9 miles with nearly 3,000 feet of vertical gain and loss. Runners should be prepared for high altitude, changing mountain weather, and a true backcountry challenge.
