250 Years of Trailblazing Spirit: From Independence to the Equality State
Saturday, August 15, 2026 • Downtown Douglas • 10:00 AM
Join the community for the 114th Wyoming State Fair Parade, one of Douglas’ longest-running traditions and the grand finale of Wyoming State Fair week.
Thousands of spectators line the streets each year to enjoy creative floats, marching groups, equestrian entries, classic vehicles, community organizations, and plenty of Wyoming spirit.
The 2026 parade theme is “250 Years of Trailblazing Spirit: From Independence to the Equality State.”
This year’s Grand Marshal is the Wyoming Historical Society. Parade participants are encouraged to highlight Wyoming’s history, pioneering heritage, and trailblazing spirit through their entries.

The parade begins at 4th and Hamilton Street at 10:00 AM, proceeds north on 4th Street to Center Street, and concludes at 2nd and Center Street.
Online registration opens July 1, 2026. The regular entry deadline is August 8, 2026. Late entries may be accepted but will not be eligible for judging.

Parade entries will be judged using the following criteria:
One winner in each category will receive a commemorative plaque and a prize.
Please use caution along the parade route. Parents and guardians should keep children out of the street, especially when candy or other treats are being distributed.
Children should remain a safe distance from moving vehicles, animals, floats, and equipment so everyone can enjoy a safe and successful parade.
Organizers are optimistic that ongoing downtown road construction will not affect the parade. If necessary, a contingency route or staging plan will be used to ensure the event continues safely and successfully.
Start planning your entry and join Douglas in celebrating 250 years of trailblazing spirit!
