Wildlife
Wildlife is both diverse and plentiful in Converse County. Whether you visit the county for wildlife viewing in the summer or hunting season in the fall, you’re sure to be amazed at the number of creatures that call the county home.
Antelope, elk, bighorn sheep, white tail deer and mule deer are found within the county’s borders. Black bear and mountain lions, although seen less often, also reside within the county. On the smaller scale, there’s also much to see with prairie dogs, mountains lions, bobcats and more.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department oversees hunting of most species within the county. For more information on acquiring a license, visit the agency’s website at http://gf.state.wy.us/.
