Wyoming State Fair
August 14-21, the Wyoming State Fair is a celebration of all things Wyoming. From the grandstand events to the show ring, year-in
and year-out this event provides an outstanding source of education and entertainment. This year's theme is Barnyard Mardi Gras and it is sure to be a great time!
Taking center stage in the grandstands this year will be a demolition derby, Wyoming's ranch rodeo finals, miniature bull riding, professional bull riding and a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo. On the evening of Wed., Aug. 18, 2010 country music’s Joe Diffie, with special guest Locash Cowboys, will perform.
Along the midway you’ll find even more action with clowns, hypnotists, a carnival and numerous exhibits. Amidst the exhibit halls and in the livestock show rings you’ll see Wyoming’s best competing for prizes and the top spot in the state show. Wyoming businesses also join the action by providing commercial exhibits.
The first Wyoming State Fair was held in Douglas in 1905. The event will celebrate 100 years in 2012. There were seven years, some during the Great Depression and others during World War II, that the event wasn’t held.
