April 20-22, 2012 • Big Wyoming Horse Expo Everything equine takes center stage at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds during the Big Wyoming Horse Expo. Equine clinicians, western vendors and horse lovers galore fill the grounds for this fun-filled event!

Starting Each April • Glenrock's Truck & Tractor Pulls Beginning each April, andlasting into September, the Glenrock community hosts a series of truck and tractor pulls. It’s a true test of just how tough your truck or tractor truly is. Competitors hook their rig up to sled that gains weight the further it’s pulled. Thevehicle that pulls the farthest, wins the prize money! Participants from six states come to Glenrock to compete. Catch the details at www.cwapmtc.com.

Elk Hunting Season

Starting Each May • Douglas Motorsports Park Engines roar to life beginning each May and spanning through September in Douglas as car race enthusiasts gather for the annual race season. May 26, 2012 • Lil Pokes Rodeo Polish up your tot-sized boots, put on your best hat and jeans and head to Glenrock May 26, 2012 for a one-of-a-kind horseless rodeo all kids enjoy. This day is packed with good 'ol Wyoming-style fun for the whole family!

June 7-9, 2012 • Jackalope Railroad Days Downtown Douglas, starting with Jackalope Square, will be busting at the seams for this fun-filled weekend. The Douglas Chamber of Commerce is hosting a craft fair in Jackalope Square. Adding to the fun, Douglas' main street group is hosting a street dance and a car show in the downtown area on June 8!

Wyoming Highschool Rodeo Finals

June 16, 2012 • Art in the Park Art in the Park will have the Glenrock town park alive with action and entertainment! Admission is free and the event includes crafts, jewelry, food, fine art and the tractor club's antique tractor pulls!

 

June 2012 • Glenrock Pioneer Days What better way to learn local history than through real life examples! See demonstrations from pioneer days in Wyoming at this unique event. Festivities take place in the scenic Glenrock, Wyo. town park.

June 20-24, 2012 • Wyoming High School Rodeo Finals See Wyoming's finest young cowboys and cowgirls compete for a spot on the National High School Rodeo Team. Only four qualify in each event and these kids know how to rodeo. After all, they're from the Cowboy State! The action takes place at the Wyoming State Faigrounds.Visit www.wyhsra.org for performance times.

Every Monday in July at dusk • Movies on the Train! You've never seen movies quite like these. Each Monday in July the Douglas Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, located at Locomotive Park, showswestern movies on a big screen mounted to their locomotive. Area visitors and families gather on the lawn with blankets, lawn chairs and complimentary popcorn. Check back for details on this year's movie line-up!

July 21, 2012 • Wyoming Miss Lil Pokes Rodeo Queen Scholarship Pageant Wyoming cutest and tiniest rodeo queens will be in Glenrock July 21 to compete for the title of Miss Lil Pokes. July 28, 2012 • Yak About This event will give you something to "yak about" when you share your stories of "vacation 2012!" Held at the Star k Ranch, 100 Boxelder Road in Glenrock, this event includes activities for the kids, a lawnmower pull, an antique tractor show & shine, a homemade salsa competition, auction and casino night. As for the name "Yak About," it stems from the cute little yaks you'll find making their home at the Star K Ranch!

Douglas Waterpark

Douglas Waterpark Beat the summer heat with a trip to the Douglas Waterpark. Whether it’s a straight shot into the water, or twists and turns, the park’s two slides are a sure thrill. The pool sits adjacent to Douglas’ Washington Park and includes a wading pool, fountains and a small slide for the little ones.

Aug. 12-18, 2012 • 100th Wyoming State Fair & Rodeo Wyoming tradition comes alive each August with the Wyoming State Fair, an event that will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012. Complete with livestock shows, a carnival, a concert, rodeo action, horse shows and more, this is a great event to plan your summer vacation around. You can stroll through the vendors, see Wyoming 4-H and FFA youth in action and catch the night shows. It’s a showcase of the best Wyoming has to offer! Senior Professional Rodeo • Late August: Cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation make the trip to Douglas to compete in this rodeo for contestants who are 50 and up. From the bronc riding to the barrel racing, it’s always a crowd pleaser. The rodeo is held each year on the final weekend in August.

Sept. 29, 2012 • Glenrock's Fall Festival and Hunters' BBQ Welcome to Wyoming hunters! Please join us for a barn dance to live music, an auction, BBQ and beer garden at the Star k Ranch, 100 Boxelder Road in Glenrock. This is always a fun event! The event begins at 4 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m.

Jan. 17-20, 2012 • Platte River Photography Show You won't want to miss the display of pure talent! Photographers from across the region are entering their work in the 2012 Platte River Photography show at the Wyoming Pioneer Museum, located on the Wyoming State FElk Hunting Seasonairgrounds.
